Sadly for those looking to wield lightsabers with ease in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 there's only one way of getting your hands on this iconic weapon in a battle royale match - by beating Darth Vader.
Sadly, as you might assume correctly, that means the only lightsaber available with this new update is that of Vader's, with no variations dropping from Imperial Chests.
There aren't any NPCs that hand one either, as the only other Star Wars NPC besides Darth Vader currently on the island is Chewbacca, who will grant you a Wookie Bowcaster if you decide to help him beat the imperial troops.
So, if you were wondering why there weren't any lightsabers showing up in your looted Imperial Chests, then that's your answer - they're not in the game at the moment.
It sucks to see, but it's completely understandable as Chapter 5 Season 2 introduced another powerful melee ability, the Chains of Hades, which returned to the loot pool with the Star Wars update. Perhaps Epic Games felt having too many melee weapons in the pool, especially after players had to deal with the OP Avatar ones, might have been too much.
