Apex Legends Pre Season $500,000 Invitational Announcement

EA and Respawn Entertainment, creators of Apex Legends, have recently announced the Apex Legends Pre Season Invitational. 80 three person squads from around the world will compete in Krakow, Poland, to earn their lion’s share of a $500,000 prize pool. The event will take place on September 13th-15th, supposedly ahead of the release of Season 3.

Apex Legends teams that make it through the application process will compete in a double elimination tournament. Starting in the winners bracket, the team’s performance in each round will determine whether they stay in the winners bracket, fall into the losers bracket or are eliminated from the tournament. The last 20 teams will then head on through to the Grand Finals.

“Competition is in the DNA of Apex Legends and this competitive event will showcase the game at its highest-level,” said Chad Grenier, Design Director. “This Apex Legends Preseason Invitational advances our vision towards a robust competitive experience with the community at the center. We continue to explore all the entertaining ways both players and spectators can experience Apex Legends and look forward to bringing this event to life.”

How do you apply?

Teams looking to apply for an invite to the tournament can do so by emailing ApexLegendsPreSeason@ea.com expressing their interest. Teams MUST include their origin ID and associated email address.

For those looking to see whether they are eligible, EA have released the official rules here. The rules also state teams must pay a $150 registration fee and each registered team will receive a meal voucher and Apex Legends merchendise for use during the tournament.
